In april 2024, the department issued a final rule increasing the standard salary level for exemption, and the total annual compensation requirement for highly compensated employees, as detailed below. The list includes some special districts in states but does not include all of said districts.

Effective july 1, 2024, the minimum weekly salary for exempt status will increase to $844 ($43,888 annually) and the highly compensated salary threshold will increase to $132,964 annually. The first phase, july 1st, which already passed, is going up from $107,432 to $132,964.
